YaqeenKids is made for children aged 4 to 10, so we built it to know as little about them as possible. The short version: a child never needs an account, there are no ads, and what your child does in the app stays on your device.
What the app keeps, and where
A grown-up can add up to six child profiles. Each one is a nickname and a picture chosen from the app's own set — no photo, no birthday, no school, no location.
For each profile the app remembers the stars earned, the games played, the stories read, the badges opened and the days the child came back, along with your settings for language and sound.
All of this is stored on your device only. It is not sent to us, and we cannot see it.
What we do not do
There are no advertisements in the app and no advertising code. There is no analytics or tracking software, no social features, no chat, and nothing that follows your child from one app to another.
The app does not ask for the camera, the microphone, your contacts, your photos or your location.
We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. Apart from what you choose to send us yourself — an email, a feedback form — the only personal information we hold is a grown-up's email address, and only if they choose to sign in.
The family account (optional)
The app works without signing in. A grown-up may choose to sign in from the parent corner, with their Apple or Google account, so the family plan can be used on the family's other devices.
Buying the family plan does not need an account either. If you buy without one, the purchase is kept with our backend provider under a random number, with no name and no email address, so that the app can open what you paid for. On another device, Restore purchase brings the plan back through the same App Store or Google Play account.
If you do, we keep the email address Apple or Google passes to us — with Apple you may choose to hide your real one — and whether your family plan is active. They are stored with our backend provider, Supabase, and used only to sign you in and to open what you have paid for. Your child's profiles and progress are not part of the account; they stay on the device.
To delete the account and the email address with it, open the parent corner, scroll to the end and choose Delete account: it is removed at once. Or write to support@yaqeenkids.com from that address and we will remove it within 30 days.
When the app goes online
The games and the free stories are inside the app. Other stories are fetched from our servers the first time they are opened, and then kept on the device.
Like any download, that request reaches our hosting provider, Cloudflare, with the device's IP address and basic technical details such as the file asked for and the time. We use these records only to keep the service running and secure. They are not linked to a child's profile.
The parent corner links to a feedback form and a survey, hosted by Google Forms. They open in your browser, outside the app, and nothing is sent unless you fill one in. We keep your answers to improve the app; a name or a way to reach you is optional, and kept only if you give it. Google handles the form under its own privacy policy. To have your answers deleted, write to support@yaqeenkids.com.
Subscriptions
The family plan is bought through the App Store or Google Play. The payment is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details.
In Egypt you can pay by InstaPay instead, arranged by email. The transfer is handled by InstaPay and your bank. We keep your email address, the amount, the transfer's reference and the date the plan runs to, so we can open the plan and answer questions about it.
This website
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary server records, as described above.
If you write to us, we keep your message and your address for as long as it takes to answer you and to keep a record of the conversation.
Removing your child's information
Because your child's profiles and progress are on your device, you are in control of them. In the parent corner you can edit or remove a profile and reset its progress. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information — for example by email — tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts to work differently — for example, if progress is ever allowed to follow a child to another device — we will update this page first and say plainly what changed.
